Salon Ruggeri is the direct result of two masterminds coming together to create their ultimate salon experience.

"A salon is a gathering of people under the roof of an inspiring host, held partly to amuse one another and partly to refine the taste and increase the knowledge of the participants through conversation."

New York is a massive, noise-filled, crowded city—which is wonderful, absolutely wonderful! That is, until you desperately need some peace and quiet, that is. That's where Salon Ruggeri comes in.
This sophisticated and chic salon is one of our favorite hidden gems, thanks to its small size and the phenomenal hairstyling talent within. It's also, simply put, gorgeous. That's because co-founder Craig Longhurst is an interior designer, and his excellent taste is visible in the velvet sofa, Cole and Son wallpaper, fresh flowers, and Knoll table you'll see upon entry. With surroundings so beautiful, it's not surprising that the cuts and blowouts are impeccable. In short, we'd bet it's impossible to leave Salon Ruggeri without loving your hair.
If you've already been in on the secret, be sure to update your GPS directions, since Ruggeri and Longhurst recently relocated the salon from Murray Hill to Fifth Avenue. And if you haven't been to Salon Ruggeri yet, we know of one easy way to rectify that situation.

Together for almost 20 years and collaborators in business for 10. Gregorio Ruggeri & Craig Longhurst moved to New York 5 years ago with a dream. Perfecting the fine art of aesthetics has always been something that has, and still is, a constant mantra for them both.
Longhurst studied Interior Design and Architecture at RMIT in Melbourne, one of Australia's finest design College. He later went on to open a Dinner called 'Soda Sisters' that became an iconic Melbourne hot spot for Society gals and guys as well as being used for TV & Film shoots. Later Longhurst moved to Hong Kong as the Sales and Marketing Director for Herman Miller Asia Pacific. Moving back to Sydney, some years later to pursue a role with Wilkahn then Unifor. It was then that Craig met Gregorio.
Gregorio Ruggeri began his trek to the top as an assistant in his mother’s salon at the impressionable age of 13. By the time he turned 15, Ruggeri was apprenticing at an upscale salon in Sydney’s chic Paddington neighborhood. Within only a few years, Ruggeri was a full-time hairstylist, and also trained as a makeup artist, going on to do hair and makeup regularly for Yves Saint Laurent, Louis Vuitton, and Gucci.

Salon Ruggeri recently relocated to Manhattan’s hip NoMAD district, allowing both Ruggeri and Longhurst to showcase their talents to the fullest. In addition to Ruggeri’s stellar services, Longhurst has assembled a top tier collection of mid-century modern furniture, art and objects, all of which are available for clients to purchase. The duo also collaborated with Ciner, the storied 124-year-old New York-based costume jewelry house, on a collection of cuffs, necklaces and hair accessories sold exclusively at the salon. The resulting space is an oasis of calm and indulgence that sets a new standard for the ultimate New York City style experience.
